Liverpool PIPS

We are a group for anyone living with chronic pain. From 11th January 2018 we will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 1-4pm in “The Loft”, St Andrews Church, Adshead Rd, Clubmoor L13 9AL.

My name is Kerry. I set up this group because, after 9yrs of continuous, worsening, wide-spread pain, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2008, aged just 25. I finally had a name, but there was no support available. I did every pain management programme available, but after the 6wks ur expected to cope alone. I was also finding that, everywhere I went, I was meeting people in my position; in pain and unable to cope alone. So I figured, if there’s no support network, why not create one?!

I am trained in counselling, life coaching, budget coaching, nursing and Occupational Therapy. I also have several chronic conditions; Fibromyalgia, Scoliosis, Hyper-Mobility Disorder and mental health issues. I am therefore in a rather unique position to facilitate this kind of group as I can not only provide semi-professional support, but I know exactly how it feels to actually live every day in pain.

Whatever your condition, whatever causes your pain, I hope you know that you don’t have to suffer alone. We can share advice and friendship together. And if your pain is so great that you can’t get to our meetings, I can offer 1-to-1 peer coaching at your home. I will also be starting a blog to document the meetings (maintaining confidentiality) so that no one ever has to feel they have missed anything.
